Everyone absorbs information differently. Consider this when assisting agents overcome their limitations
Modes of Training:
Self Learning: These individuals are most comfortable learning on their own. This format allows them to create their own pace and extract information in a format that best allows them to create new habits.
Items to Consider
- A training schedule that lists all items for the training period
- Access to relevant books and manuals
- A list of resources (websites, conferences, local associations etc.)
- Scheduled follow up sessions to ensure that the training material is actually being absorbed.
Mentoring: These individuals are most responsive when following experienced individuals. This gives them the ability to see first hand the effective strategies that others find useful. Through observation and imitation these candidates are able to quickly create a routine that suits them.
Items to Consider
- A training schedule that lists all items for the training period
- A list of available mentors (experienced agents within the company)
- A list of expert coaches/mentors within the Real Estate industry
- Scheduled follow up sessions to ensure that the training material is actually being absorbed.
Group Training: These individuals are most comfortable in an environment where they are surrounded by individuals that are learning with them.
Items to Consider
- Ice breakers/Team Building Exercises (to help all participants become comfortable)
- Role playing activities
- Scenarios that focus on difficult situations that agents may face
- Scenarios that focus on deficient areas that were brought out by the assessment
- Scenarios that provide an opportunity to put discussed training into practice.
- Video taped sessions
- Allow you to easily point out areas for improvement and provide immediate suggestions.
- Allows each candidate to review their own performances to create self awareness of what actions need to be kept in mind.
- Scheduled follow up sessions to ensure that the training material is actually being absorbed.
